Primary Teacher Recruitment Scam: Calcutta HC Orders

Primary Teacher Recruitment Scam:

At the beginning of the new year, another 59 people lost their jobs due to corruption, making a total of 252.

In the primary teacher corruption case of the state, the corrupt teachers are going to work one by one on the order of Calcutta High Court. Most of them have been working in various schools for a long time by submitting white papers or answering few questions. They got jobs by bribing the then high-ranking officials and heavyweights.

One curtain after another is being leaked in cases related to corruption in the recruitment of teachers. The heavyweight of the state is in jail. This time another 59 candidates got the job successfully. In all, 252 people lost their jobs due to corruption allegations.

Calcutta High Court Judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay canceled the recruitment of 268 people as per the list submitted by CBI in primary teacher recruitment corruption. The jobless candidates approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision.

The Supreme Court then directed the Calcutta High Court to take a decision after hearing everyone’s statement. Candidates can rejoin the service if they can prove their valid employment or else the order of the Calcutta High Court will remain in place – the Supreme Court said.

Similarly, the statements of 268 candidates were heard separately by Calcutta High Court. Most of them could not provide proof of their legal employment.

The Calcutta High Court upheld the order to cancel the jobs of 59 more people in this corruption. On Thursday, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay said that the order to cancel their jobs will be upheld. Out of 268, 252 were dismissed today.

When 268 candidates filed a counter-case in the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court directed the High Court to hear the statements of each dismissed person separately. The dismissed candidates submitted an affidavit in the court.

After seeing the affidavit, the Calcutta High Court upheld the dismissal of 53 people on December 23. On Tuesday, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay upheld the earlier decision to dismiss 140 more people. Abhijit Gangopadhyay fired 59 more jobs on Thursday. The High Court also ordered the immediate stoppage of the salaries of all the employees.

It took a long time for the court to decide about the total three people in this case. Out of these three teachers, two have been retained for reinstatement. The appeal of the remaining one is still pending. Within a few days, the court can give a final decision about him after considering all the trials. Only then will it be known whether the person will be able to work, or he will also be dismissed and his salary will be stopped.
